Azerbaijani traditional music and dance has a way of taking you to another place and time; into a different environment of human existence which our creative ancestors were able to face, discovering, enjoying, and sharing the beauty of life.
Our music and dance, like many of the Turkic cultures, have the unique quality of bringing you instantly into an ancient tradition dating as far back as 5000 years ago. It is very multi-dimensional, melodious, spiritually inspiring and transcendent, which traditionally performed at different ceremonial occasions and has been reflecting the qualities and characteristics of the nation and the Azerbaijani people for years.
In the dance you will see qualities of grace, poise, a regal strength and pride. In the music you will hear mysticism and power drawing on a very old and highly complex art form that combine classical poetry with musical improvisation.
