The valley opens out into a plain that slopes gently down to the north eastern end of Lake Urmia, 60 kilometres (37 miles) to the west. With cold winters and temperate summers the city is considered a summer resort.

The estimated population of the city is around 3,000,000 based on results of the Iranian census bureau. Tabriz is the fifth most populous city in Iran after TehranMashhadIsfahan, and Karaj. Many monuments in the city date back to the IlkhanidSafavid, and Qajar periods, among them is the large Tabriz Historic Bazaar Complex which is inscribed as a World Heritage Site in 2010. The oldest signs of the civilization in the city is an excavation site and museum in the city center with a history that dates back 2500 years.

Shut up! Where’s south azerbaycan?! Show me on the map?! I am from Tabriz and my parents and ancestors! We love Iran! Tabriz has been a permanent part of great Iran for thousands years and the fake republic of Baku will be back to the mother land of Iran soon! You don’t have history that’s why stupidly want to make a fake map and history for yourself! Azerbaycan has been always the area in South part of aras river and the North part was Aran and Shervan! Remove the fake fact from your website otherwise we sue you here in Australia because of posting fake and illegal subjects!

Aydin bey, first of all mind your language. Secondly, Azerbaijan has NEVEN been the part of IRAN, but an old Persian Empire just like parts of Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq etc etc. It is clear from your name and place of birth you are ethnic Azerbaijani Turk. Your should be proud of your nation finally become an independent state. Although north part only but its something rather than noting. But instead you choose to ignore and prefer Persian-Armenian nationalist propaganda to destroy anything Turkish in Iran. You have to speak Persian rather than your Azerbaijani Turkish, you have no rights to study in your own mother tongue. Even minor Armenians in Iran have 10 times more rights than you. If all that are not disturbing for you then it you the bigger fake, than mullahs propaganda of Azerbaijan being part of so called Iran.
