About Us

Inspired by our history, literature, music, dance and culture of our motherland, we are passionate about our cultural heritage. Over many years, Azerbaijanis from different parts of the world have experienced several kinds of problems associated with their language, ethnic, geographical and cultural identity as well as their background.

Nevertheless, the people of this land have historically developed and acknowledged common cultural values and traditions which they feel strongly affiliated with.

Since early settlement, the Azerbaijani people in Australia have been feeling the genuine commitment to have their own community based and managed not-for-profit organisations. In fact, Australia has become a home for many of us which provides a unique opportunity to develop and promote better understanding of our cultural values and community needs.

In the face of rapid growth and change in our modern life, it remains vital that our people have a good and positive understanding of their cultural identity. Our people should be able to always feel a sense of belonging, and take pride in Australia and it’s mainstream community as a multicultural diverse society. This has been the strength of the country, which makes it stand out as a positive model for the rest of the world.

Although we are a newly formed organisation, our management committee members have all been actively involved in our Community affairs for many years. As a matter of fact, the first official president of the original Association of Azerbaijanis in Australia ( established 1992 ) as well as a large group of its management committee are with us along with very devoted young Azerbaijanis as a strong part of our organisation. We also have representatives in most states of Australia and hoping to reach as many of us to keep in touch with the society concerns as a whole.

The good news is that we are not the only ones. We are proud to say that there are other active organisations who have been serving our community needs for many years. In addition, we have two Radio”Voice of Azerbaijan”on every Monday night which has been keeping us in touch for over two decades as well as the Radio”Azeri Sesi”on every Sunday evening and just celebrated its 10th anniversary. We hold high regards to the tireless work of the two major media form of Azerbaijanis in Australia.

We are hoping to take our community a step further we aim to collaborate with every entity who are devoted to this community's needs. We strive to create a unity of Azerbaijanis in Australia.

We welcome every Azerbaijani from all around our motherland to join us and be part of our activities and enjoy the very spirit of the cheerful and resilient nature of Azerbaijanis and experience the unique feeling of genuine affiliation with the community at large.
